By integrating the Google tag with Google Ads and Google Analytics, Google is making it easier to implement the Google tag across an entire website. Sitewide tags are critical for determining how customers interact with a website and its advertisements.

However, without technical knowledge, it is difficult to set up and manage tags. Google released a single, reusable Google tag in August to assist advertisers in setting up and managing sitewide tags.

The Google tag enables advertisers to do more across multiple Google products and accounts without changing the code of their website.

Google is now releasing new features that simplify the setup process and provide more visibility into a site’s measurement coverage.

Tagging should be used on all website pages to improve measurement accuracy. Using the new tag coverage summary, you can easily determine whether your Google tag has been implemented on all of your website’s pages.

The tag coverage summary will also suggest pages that have not been properly tagged for them to be included.

Google provides an example of how to use the tag coverage summary report in a blog post:

“You’ll see where your tags are implemented in suggested pages, which can be added to your summary to understand your tag coverage on these pages later. And, if the suggestions don’t include all of your website pages, quickly add the URLs by entering them or uploading a CSV file. You can also click the Tag Assistant icon next to each page to investigate whether your tags are implemented properly.”

Businesses and advertisers will soon be able to find Google tag capabilities directly integrated into Google Ads and Google Analytics, making it even easier to use.

This integration eliminates the need to add additional code to your website.

For businesses that use popular content management systems or website builders, you can now add a new Google tag to your website without having to make manual changes to the site code.

You can use your existing gtag.js implementation or create a new Google tag to deploy without changing the code of your website. This can be done directly in your CMS through the Ads and Analytics account setup flows.

CMS instructions are displayed on your installation screen for platforms that have the Google tag integrated.
