Google App Allows You To Remove Personal Information From Search
Remove Personal Information From Search? With an update to the mobile app, removing personal information from Google search results is now easier than ever.

Google is rolling out an update to its mobile app that will allow users to request that personal information be removed from search results.
This update expands on an existing tool designed to make the removal request form more accessible.
Google first released the personal information removal tool in 2020, but you’d have to look for it because it’s buried at the bottom of a help page.
Google is now making it possible to access the form from its mobile app. The form is accessible via your user profile menu or the search results pages.

How To Remove Personal Information From Google App Search Results

If you come across a page in search results that contain personally identifiable information, you can open the “About this result” panel by tapping on the three-dot menu icon.
When you click “Remove result,” Google will direct you to the removal request form. The form requests additional information to assist Google in understanding why you want the page removed from its index.
You can also get to the form by tapping on your profile image and then selecting “Results about you.”
You can use Google’s information removal tool to request that pages that contain:
- Confidential government identification (ID) numbers like U.S. Social Security Number
- Bank account numbers
- Credit card numbers
- Images of handwritten signatures
- Images of ID docs
- Medical records, for example, are highly personal, restricted, and official records.
- Contact information for individuals such as physical addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Confidential login credentials
Google will only deny requests if the information appears on a page that is thought to be generally useful, such as a news article.
Information on public records, such as government websites, will also not be deleted.
